MVMS Distance Learning Days 2023-2024

Below you will find information, protocols, and procedures for distance learning days at MVMS. Please note, all schools have a different plan, so if you have students in other schools in our district, their plan for the day may be different.

With the winter months upon us, we wanted to reach out and share a reminder with families of what weather-related impacts to our school day could look like. In a weather emergency, Superintendent Balke may choose to implement a Distance Learning Day. On these occasions, students will participate in learning activities from home utilizing the Schoology platform. It is important to mention that each school in the district has a distinctive plan for Distance Learning Days, carefully crafted to meet the specific developmental needs of its student population.

Also, for your planning purposes, Superintendent Balke has designated January 23, 2024, as a Distance Learning Day. This decision is a result of several schools within the SAU being used for voting during the NH Primary Election.

On distance learning days, teachers will offer office hours to provide support for our students. Students are given the choice of both morning and an afternoon timestamp to attend for each subject if they need help/enrichment/reteaching, etc. Office hours are optional for students.

A few important points:

• Classwork will be posted by teachers in Schoology.
• Office hours will be hosted through the Microsoft Teams platform and links to each office hour will be posted in Schoology.
• School Counselors and administrators will be available via email for students and families.
• Enrichment activities will be available in the library media center’s course in Schoology.

10:25 – 10:56 A Period (please be sure to take attendance by 10:40)

10:56 – 11:20 B Period (Or C Period) This will be rotated.

11:20 – D Period - followed by our normal bell schedule
